P-51 Mustang
Price includes Standard Shipping to Street Addresses in the Lower 48 States

Completed in 178 days from the time production work first began, the P-51 Mustang quickly evolved into the agile fighter that the Allies used to crush the Luftwaffe and make daylight bombing of Germany possible in World War II.

Using high octane fuel the P-51's were fast enough to shoot down Hitler’s rockets and jet aircraft as they sped toward England. Chuck Yeager was one of the pilots credited with bagging a jet with his P-51D.

The planes first flew in October of 1940 and remained part of the American Air Force until 1951. They saw service in the Pacific against the Japanese and later in Korea. The planes found their way into the air forces of many other nations including two purchased by Fidel Castro who obtained them illegally in Canada and took them to Cuba.

Today a handful of the Mustangs are still being flown by enthusiasts and they command a price of over $1 million even if only partially restored. The Mustangs were over 32 feet long, had a 37 seven foot wingspan and could hit a maximum speed of 437 miles per hour.

The replica is hand carved from mahogany and features a rich, warm finish that makes it an excellent choice to decorate your coffee table, wall nook or desk space. The wood is completely finished. The model is not a kit, the wings and propeller simply slide into place after the plane is removed from its shipping box and placed on its stand. The stand is included.
