The design was approved by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954. The features include an American bald eagle with wings fully stretched and a ribbon with the words “Semper Fidelis in his beak, an anchor and a half globe signifying the world wide reach of the Marine Corps.
This carefully created wooden replica combines dozens of hand carved parts mounted on an 11.5 inch diameter disk to recreate the emblem in a raised pattern that is finished in the gold, crimson, black, and white colors of the Marine Corps. The emblem is sealed with a high gloss lacquer that gives it a mirror shine. The emblem has a small hanger on the back allowing it to be hung on a wall for display.
Recognizing that there are no ex-marines, the Emblem makes a perfect gift for the marine who is no longer on active duty.
