The B29 traveled so high and fast that few fighters could catch it and German cannons seldom succeeded in knocking it out of the air. The design so impressed the Russians that they built exact copies from American planes that crash landed on their territory.
The model is hand carved from mahogany which is a richly colored, warm-toned wood. The reddish-brown natural wood color is accented by a clear, high-gloss varnish that gives it a shining finish.
